Golden Macacha Milk

Serves 2

  • 4 cups of your favourite non-dairy milk (we particularly love coconut or cashew for this)
  • 1 teaspoon dried turmeric, or 2 cm fresh turmeric finely grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried ginger, or a 1 cm piece of fresh ginger finely grated
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons MACACHA Peace blend
  • pinch of black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon + extra for sprinkling
  • 1 teaspoon honey – optional, adjust to your desired sweetness
  1. Place the milk in a small saucepan and gently heat until just shimmering but not quite boiling.
  2. Add the turmeric, ginger, cinnamon and pepper, stirring well. Leave to simmer for 3-5 minutes, allowing small bubbles to form at the edges but without coming to a rolling boil.
  3. Turn off the heat and cover with a lid, leaving the mixture to infuse for ten minutes.
  4. Add your MACACHA powder and whisk well. You can strain the mixture through a tea strainer if you have used fresh spices, or simply portion into two cups and serve warm, adding a little honey if you wish and an extra sprinkle of cinnamon.
