How to chill out with our PEACE blend: Spotlight on L-Theanine

We’re all searching for a bit of serenity in our busy lives, but we know that with all the demands placed upon us each day it’s not always possible, often leaving us with that ‘tired but wired’ feeling.

Our PEACE blend is formulated with a whole host of nervous system supporting nutrients including our spotlight nutrient of the week: the amino acid L-theanine.

Traditionally found in green tea, this amazing compound increases levels of serotonin, dopamine and GABA (our ‘feel good’ neurotransmitters), in addition to alpha frequencies which are associated with lowered anxiety and depression as well as improved mental alertness. Serotonin is also then converted to melatonin, promoting restful sleep without the numbing effect or hangover you might get with a sleeping pill.

Clinical trials indicate the relaxant effects of L-theanine can be felt within 15 minutes of consuming just 200mg (so it’s lucky our PEACE blend contains 231mg per 30g serving!). Research also supports long term inclusion in our diets to counteract ongoing stressors.
